Construction management software built around the site, not the spreadsheet

Most construction software is a project tracker with a hard hat on it: tasks, a Gantt chart, a file store. That is not where a contract loses money. It loses money between the bill of quantities and the purchase order, between what the store issued and what the site says it used, and between the work in place and the interim payment certificate that was supposed to bill for it. The three gaps that cost real money

Every contractor we have watched loses margin in the same three places, and none of them is a scheduling problem.

  • BOQ to purchase order. The bill is priced in one file and bought in another. Quantities get rounded, rates get remembered wrong, and nobody can say which order belongs to which bill line. How to prepare a BOQ that survives the site is the long version of why this matters.
  • Store to site. Material is received against a delivery note, issued on a verbal request, and reconciled at month end from memory. The variance is real, it is recurring, and it is invisible until stocktake.

Questions people actually ask

Do I need the accounting side to use the site side?
No. Ofivio Build works on its own — the bill, procurement, store, site reports and certificates. The ledger is a separate product you can add later, and when you do, the certificates you have already raised start posting to it.
Can site staff use it on a phone with a poor connection?
Daily site reports, photos and snags are built mobile-first for exactly that reason. The office screens assume a desk; the site screens assume a phone in bright sun.
We already keep the BOQ in Excel. Does that have to change?
The bill has to become structured lines for procurement and certification to work off it. Excel stays useful for one-off take-offs, but a bill that lives only in a spreadsheet cannot be the source a purchase order derives from.
How is this different from a general project tool?
